Buses

Buses are vehicles designed to transport passengers in the most comfortable and secure way possible. We use exclusively buses due to their superior features: pneumatic suspensions, three braking systems (pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric), soundproofing, climate control, and safety windows. Additionally, their steel structures are extremely rigid.

Basic Setup

  • Solar panels (minimum 2400W), 2.5 kW batteries, 220V inverter
  • Fully equipped kitchen with sink, 3-burner gas stove, and refrigerator
  • 5 kitchen cabinets
  • Full bathroom with shower and toilet
  • Climate control with 2 split units (bedroom and living room)
  • Electrical wiring at 12/220V
  • Water tanks: 500L (clean), 300L (grey), 100L (black)
  • Diesel/gas heating with thermostat
  • Standard seats (pneumatic driver seat)
  • Rear bed 160 x 190 (without mattress)

How much time do we need?

Unlike other motorhomes, buses are not restricted by a specific weight limit, which allows us greater flexibility in terms of load and internal modifications. We remove all seats except for six + the driver, and the client is free to design the interior according to their preferences, as long as it complies with certification regulations.

Converting a bus takes approximately 10 weeks from the arrival of the vehicle at our facilities. This timeframe may be affected by delays in the delivery of necessary accessories.

FAQS - Frequently Asked Questions

If you are interested in purchasing a bus but do not have the required license, we have bad news: you will never be able to drive one without obtaining the license. As a heavy vehicle, the C License is necessary. For more information, please visit our page in the C License section.

Yes, although it is not common, we have converted and sold complete buses. Typically, our service involves advising the client on purchasing a bus, with a small commission for the search, verification, purchase process, certification, and ownership transfer, or directly converting a bus that clients have previously acquired themselves.

Absolutely. In fact, this is our main mission along with the conversion service. For a small commission, we will handle the search for the vehicle, its purchase, state verification, the buying process, conversion, and ownership transfer, ensuring everything is in order and ready for delivery. For more information, visit the section "¿Buscamos tu bus?" or contact us directly.

Some of the specifications shown on the website are approximate and based on buses we have previously worked on. They may vary slightly from bus to bus.

Of course. We live in a country where summer temperatures can reach very high levels. It is important to ensure the comfort of people living in the bus during these extreme months. At Tarifa Bus, we have designed a system of treatments and measures to ensure enviable comfort.

-The entire bus roof is covered with solar panels.

This serves two essential functions: providing the bus with an electric power supply capable of operating a powerful cooling system and protecting the bus roof from direct sunlight by creating a double roof with enough separation to prevent overheating of the physical roof.

-Equipping the bus with awnings on both sides and its full length. These awnings will be deployed to block direct sunlight. (In areas with extreme winds, we recommend replacing the awning fabric with military camouflage materials, which are very effective in mitigating direct sunlight and are resistant to extreme wind.

-Protecting all windows with extreme solar heat film.

With all these measures, we can guarantee an interior temperature of 22 degrees during the hottest times of the day. This means being in absolute comfort even in the most adverse situations. It is worth noting that it is crucial to have the electrical power provided by the 6 solar panels of 600W each. Their performance will be optimal when needed the most.

Cold weather in a vehicle can be harsh, especially during a winter storm. At Tarifa Bus, we have the necessary measures to withstand the worst winter conditions. It is well known that low temperatures can cause batteries to die or significantly reduce their power.

For this reason, we combat the cold with fuels that we can easily store. In our case, we will have a significant supply of diesel (up to 200 liters is the capacity of our fuel tank) and propane tanks (preferable to use propane as it does not freeze like butane). Our heaters are very efficient and are perfectly capable of maintaining a pleasant temperature of 20-22 degrees.

In addition to these two types of fuel, Tarifa Bus offers custom-made stoves to enjoy a real, controllable, and safe wood fire. There is nothing more authentic than lighting a wood fire during a winter storm.

The duration of the conversion is approximately 16 weeks from the arrival of the vehicle at our facilities. Obviously, if there are delays in the delivery of necessary accessories for the conversion, the delivery date will be affected. Ideally, the project should start once all accessories have been received, but we all know what it's like to hurry and the famous “you start now and we’ll finish sooner.”
